Pictures I missed posting in 2012
-
In digging through my computer files of garden pictures, I found some that I overlooked to post. I thought I would share a hodgepodge of random pictures from 2012 that I missed. I have gotten better about blogging in the last several months, so these are from earlier in the year. Sorry for their randomness but I tried to explain in the captions. I love how my garden changes from season to season. I gave a garden tour to a friend yesterday and we talked about the seasons and which we like better. I love the summer, even though it is hotter and comes with more bugs. I love how bushy and green my garden grows. I am looking forward to a fun and exciting 2013 with new things to grow and my ever changing garden.
tomatoes – two ways to stake them: 1. on a trellis like a net trellis or cattle panel arch or 2. take a tomato cage and turn it upside down, cover the base with dirt and bury it a bit.
the only two squash I was successful with this past summer. I can’t get rid of the Japanese beetle that loves this stuff.
I spent many many hours designing my garden plans and getting my website up and running this past year. A super big thank you to my family for helping me so much!

I’m so excited to find your site! I live a bit north of Beaumont, Tx (Silsbee) and have gardened some for a long time but I’m getting a little more into it now. I have broccoli for the 2nd year; I grew canteloupe last summer, and have asparagus growing. We planted 3 fruit trees last winter– I’m looking forward to expanding my garden this year. Your site will help me stay motivated. (I need to lose about 20 lbs too- maybe you will help me there too!) I’m following you– looking forward to it!

Melinda,
We are almost neighbors! That is exciting that you have asparagus growing, I would love to start it after we move. I love asparagus. You are so kind to comment and yes we can motivate each other. I am in Dallas for the weekend and haven’t been able to run in two days, so I am anxious to get home and get back on schedule. I will post how much I loose each week. I hope it’s good news this week! So glad to connect with another Texas gardener so yes please let me know how your garden is growing. Wishing you the best!
