Yukon gold potatoes planted Saturday
-
Saturday I planted 3 yukon gold potatoes. I bought them for $1 at Sweet Organic Solutions and was so excited to get them in my garden. I turned over the soil and made a big mound in the middle of one of the tubs. I buried each of the potatoes about a bit more than one hands length. Last summer I had great luck with the sweet potatoes, so I am really excited to give yukon gold potatoes a try! My husband is a potato buyer and he knows potatoes and certainly how to grow them. I have the best agricultural consultant for potatoes ever! So blessed to have him and my garden too. Loving life and feeling grateful for all that I have.

I tried Yukon Golds this year and so far not much luck. 🙁 How did you get them to sprout before planting? I think that was my biggest problem.
Jennifer,
I bought mine already sprouted but I have heard to put them in a little bit of sunshine, but not much. Next year I will plant again.

I planted mine last year in trash barrels. Holes drilled in the bottom. Kept covering the plant as it grew. It saw almost no direct sunlight. Omg they were so delicious!
