A bird’s eye view of my garden

  • I have been wanting to get an aerial view of my garden for a while and this weekend my daughter was sweet enough to get on our roof and take this picture for me. There are two boxes not pictured, they sit closer to the house and are under the eves of the roof. Missing are: my repurposed picnic table that is full of strawberry plants and the kale/swiss chard/ and carrot box. I added their picture below.

I have had my garden about a year and a half now and have enjoyed the journey of growing food for my family, and at the same time having a wonderful escape into the beauty of growing things.  My husband helped me add an automatic watering system last summer, but I found that I didn’t like it.  I enjoy watering by hand, so I tucked it under the beds for now, as I might end up using it again someday. It is my hope that my garden might help inspire others to find the same joy that I have found in gardening.

If you are new to my site, check out my story and the benefits of gardening in raised beds and also visit older blog posts to see what I grow.

I couldn't get two boxes into the picture, there were under the roof edge. My brave daughter went on my roof for this picture - so missing is the converted picnic table of strawberries and the kale/swiss chard and carrots box.

these were hard to add in the big picture because they are under the eves of the roof.

  • Great idea of raising the beds up higher. Looks like you enjoy a bounty of goodness!

  • I do! Best wishes for you and happy gardening!

  • Outstanding. My daughter and I have a raised bed but not like this. We also did a pallet herb garden.
