I’m back from vacation – surgery tomorrow
-
For the past two weeks I have been gone on vacation. I volunteered as a counselor for our church girls camp for one week and then spent a week with family and friends on my favorite river in Hunt, Texas. I had friends and family water and check on my garden while I was away. My garden got tons of rain, so that helped too. My kidney surgery is tomorrow morning at 8 am so I will be out for probably another week. For the amazing story about my surgery, read this post.
I am very anxious to dig my sweet potatoes the first week in August. Walking will be good therapy for my recovery so I am sure I will get out to my garden as soon as I can. My okra is thriving in all this Texas heat and I hope to take pictures with updates soon. Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers. I appreciate the friends I have made in the gardening world online – you are all so sweet and kind. I am grateful for you! ~Melanie

Hi, Melanie,Great blog and ideas, I am working on setting up my garden, It;s a blessing coming across your blog. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Sylvan
Sylan,
Thanks for the kind words! I wish you the best in getting your garden set up. Fall gardens are wonderful because they don’t need as much water and it is easier to keep the bugs at bay.
Have a great day!
Melanie
